Here is one question to get us started:
What improvements to our outdoor living spaces would have the most bang for the buck?

My personal answer would be two things:
1) A heater to extend the time that you can spend in your outdoor living space, in the evenings if it cools down as well as in the spring and fall when the temperatures are generally not as high.
2) An awning (retractable or fixed) to help extend the outdoor season by protecting from the rain. Here in Victoria, the rain is definitely a factor in the ‘shoulder seasons’. An awning also helps create shady places in the heat of the summer.

I am sure there would be other answers, what are your thoughts? Please leave a comment or suggestion.
